Caramel Apple Teacake
Great for afternoon tea or serve with custard and cream for a dessert.
INGREADIENT
- 75 g soft butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 apple peeled quartered thinly sliced
- 25 g butter melted to coat
- 1 tbs sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Direction
- Grease a 23 cm round cake tin and line base with paper.
- In a small mixer bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Stir in sifted flour and milk, and mix well.
- Pour mixture into prepared pan.
- Arrange apple slices over cake mixture.
- Bake at 180C for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and stand cake on wire rack for 5 minutes.
- Brush top with extra melted butter and sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon.
