Finger Food
Chicken and Mushroom Vol au Vents
Very tasty, filling that can be used as a main meal or finger food.
INGREADIENT
- 2 cups cooked chicken diced
- 1 brown onion diced
- 200 g mushrooms sliced
- 100 g tasty cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbs plain flour
- 3/4 tbs butter
- 2 tbs parsley chopped
- 1 pinch seasoning *to taste
- 6 vol-au-vent pastry cases large
Direction
- Melt butter in non stick fry pan. Add onions and cook until tender.
- Add mushrooms and cook until all liquid has evaporated.
- Stir in the flour and gradually add the milk, continuing to stir until mixture starts to thicken.
- Add chicken, parsley, salt and pepper and half the cheese.
- Stir all together and remove from heat.
- Warm 6 large vol au vent cases in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.
- When the cases are ready fill with mixture and top with remaining cheese.
- Place them back in the oven until cheese has melted.
