French Toast
An easy recipe for French toast.
INGREADIENT
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 tsp ground cinnamon
- 6 slices bread thick
- 3 tbs butter
- 1/2 cup icing sugar *to serve
- 250 ml maple syrup *to serve
Direction
- Mix eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon.
- Heat frying pan. When hot, add 1 tablespoon butter. Reduce heat if butter starts smoking.
- Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture for approximately 30 seconds on each side.
- Place in pan. Cook for 1½-2 minutes per side until brown.
- Add extra butter to pan, as needed.
- Place toast on plate, dust with icing sugar. Serve with butter and warm maple syrup.
